A Burnt Horizon

He lay with Venus and drowned Poseidon
And fought with Mars beneath a burnt horizon
He ransacked Heaven and drank from a holy grail
Then walked a righteous path of a scorched earth trail

He sowed the seed, but razed the crop
And drained the wells of every drop
Of unholy souls he's still the keeper
And works in league with the darkest reaper

So the pauperised pious with their anxiety
Sought salvation from their appointed deity
But there was naught to find, no prayers to answer
For he destroyed it all like a malignant cancer

He fed the consuming maelstrom of the forest fire
And teased out the hatred born in innocent ire
Whilst poisoning all the oceans with the sea salt waters
That were overlooked by his own siren daughters

Now those waters rise and the deserts swell
And what was Heaven is here, but with a path to Hell
For he defeated Mars and drowned Poseidon
Then walked a scorched earth trail beneath a burnt horizon
